Twin peaks

Today was to be the longest drive of the tour, a whopping five and a half hours. To tell the truth I wasn't really expecting much after the excitements of the past few days. We woke early (again) and watched Ireland get thrashed by Belgium. We hate James McLean too. Breakfast once again saw the Indian picnic, with some of them wandering in and out of the restaurant and eating that breakfast. It must be a nightmare to keep an eye on everyone.
We checked out and set off around 10am. Luckily we soon arrived in British Columbia where they gave us one hour extra, that would come in handy later.

We entered Mount Robson National Park which was absolutely stunning. Look at this mirrored lake, Yellowhead Lake.

Some Elk wandered over the road. See him?

And look at Mount Robson and the beautiful meadow in front of it.

We then found The best falls of the holiday so far, rearguard falls.

And we were the only ones there.
A couple of hours driving later we arrived in Blue Water. Mike wiegele is trying to get a ski resort going (I've never heard of him either). It also has a cafe that had only opened two days ago, where we stopped for lunch.

As we continued on the forests became denser and as the road climbed and dipped the scenery was amazing. We did get held up a little by some roadworks. They were digging the whole road up at once so we had to wait ten minutes. Imagine that on the M1. The last few hours were a bit boring, but eventually we had to turn! And soon arrived in sun peaks. It transpired that we had just missed the Sun Peaks 5k foam fest, which meant the resort (it is a ski resort in winter) and hotel were full of very noisy youngsters. We bathed and headed for the restaurant, which was rammed due to the foam fest. Still not sure what that was even after looking on the Internet. They managed to find us a table though, but we had to wait for food, something that seems to be very unusual in Canada.
No matter, they were showing the Ireland game again on TSN. we have surmised that this is the Canadian SkyTV. It has 5 sports channels but only 1 is available without subscription. Most of the football is now on 4 or 5. We drank beer till the meal came then retired, these time changes really throw you out. 'No noise after 10pm' read all the signs. We hoped so cos room 421 just across from us were having a foam fest party. Luckily Canadians appear to retire early and come 10pm the noise subsided. Tomorrow we are having some relaxation time at the hot springs.

Food watch

Ian - steak and potatoes (Canadians like their grills) 7/10 Steak was a bit tough

Jackie - salmon and rice. 8/10. Really tasty
